How do I connect a new device?

There are two types of devices supported by nCube:


1. Things on your home network such as Nest, Philips Hue, sonos.

Set up these devices using their own app first, then from the nCube Dashboard click the large + icon to the right of the word Devices, or from the Devices page the + icon at the top right corner.

Select the particular device you are adding and nCube will search your home network for that device.  Click to add the device then go back twice to the Device list and follow the instructions from there.


2. Z-Wave devices such as TKBHome, Everspring, Danfoss.

Z-Wave devices do not have their own app.  

From the nCube Dashboard click the large + icon to the right of the word Devices, or from the Devices page the + icon at the top right corner.

Select the Z-Wave option from the list and nCube will enter the Inclusion mode.  There are three possible ways Z-Wave devices are found:

a. They are in an auto-inclusion mode for the first 5 minutes they are powered up. (If you powered them up more than 5 minutes ago, often turning them off and on will get them back into auto-inclusion again).

b. They require a physical button on the device to be clicked 3 times within a second.

c. The require just a single click on the physical button.

Click to add the device then go back twice to the Device list and follow the instructions from there.
