There are two different types of connections to Thermostats:
Z-Wave devices do not have their own app and are connected directly to nCube whilst devices such as Nest are connected via their own API and need to be set up with their own app first.
There are several different Secure branded devices all supported by nCube:
The SRT321 thermostat can be used with either the SSR302 dual-channel receiver or the SSR303 single-channel receiver. The receiver is wired to the boiler - the single-channel receiver operates only the heating whilst the dual-channel receiver operates both the heating and hot water. nCube supports both receivers.
We strongly recommend that an electrician installs the receiver.
More detailed steps are in this FAQ article: https://ncube.groovehq.com/knowledge_base/topics/setting-up-horstman-slash-secure-heating
For further information, please have a look at your model number and check the manufacturer instructions.
To reset the boiler receiver go into the nCube app, open the menu (top left icon), select Settings then select 'Exclude z-wave devices'. A blue message will show saying 'Ready to exclude'. Whilst this is displayed (1 minute duration) press and hold both white buttons on the boiler receiver until LED flashes red.
To reset the thermostat, push switch 1 up, turn the dial to 'P' and click twice and once succesful the display will show 'Pp'.
nCube supports the Danfoss Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs). These allow you set a heating schedule per room. The TRVs are Z-Wave devices so the pairing process is similar to other Z-Wave devices:
1. Go to the nCube Dashboard and next to the Device banner click on the “+” icon to the right then select “Z-Wave devices” from the list. (The “+” icon can also be found on the Devices page too).
2. Click the centre button the TRV and after a moment the TRV will be listed; click on the “+” icon and it’ll show “added” next to each and you can now go back to the Device list and start using the TRV.
nCube supports the Nest thermostat and allows you to set the target temperature, change the Home/Away mode and set a schedule. nCube does not rely on the "learning' capability.
nCube integrates to Nest via the Nest API through the Nest servers so you must first configure the Nest device using the Nest app.
Once you have got the Nest thermostat working with the Nest app follow these two steps:
1. Go to the nCube Dashboard and next to the Device banner click on the “+” icon to the right then select “NEST” from the list. (The “+” icon can also be found on the Devices page too). Enter your Nest username and password when prompted.
2. After a moment the Nest thermostat(s) will be listed; click on the “+” icon and it’ll show “added” next to each and you can now go back to the Device list and start using the thermostat(s).
